The Narciso Martinez is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization’s mission to preserve, promote, and develop the rich, cultural heritage of the Mexican American community which includes visual arts, music, theater, dance, and literary works. Since 1991, the work of the Center has featured authors, lectures, art performances, accordion lessons, art exhibits, book readings, book signings, film documentaries, and poetry readings.

In 2023, after almost two years of not programming arts presentations, we coordinated with the support of the City of Los Fresnos, six Summer Conjunto Programs. Community presence was a success. In January 2023, we presented a live conjunto program to the National University of Washington, D.C., at South Padre Island. In February, Dr. Ramon De Leon and the Center presented the Past, Present, and Future of Conjunto Music to the Hispanic Genealogy Society at the Harlingen Museum. The Conjunto Festival is by far the largest cultural production. The festival continues to highlight the tradition of conjunto music. We thank all our supporters for their continued financial contributions. It is your financial donation that helps us to continue with the cultural productions of the Center.
